Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Services
  1. Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) - A person who meets the following documented minimum qualifications:
    1. Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Nevada or holds a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a human, social services, or behavioral field with additional understanding of rehabilitative mental health treatment services, and case file documentation requirements; or
    2. Holds an Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a human, social services or behavioral field with additional understanding of rehabilitative mental health treatment services, and case file documentation and has four years of relevant professional experience of providing directservices to individuals with mental health disorders; or
    3. An equivalent combination of education and experience as listed in 403.1(a)(b)above; and
    4. Whose education and experience demonstrate the competency under clinical supervision to:
      1. Direct and provide professional therapeutic interventions within the scope of their practice and limits of their expertise;
      2. Identify presenting problem(s);
      3. Participate in Treatment Plan development and implementation;
      4. Coordinate treatment;
      5. Provide parenting skills training;
      6. Facilitate Discharge Plans; and
      7. Effectively provide verbal and written communication on behalf of the recipient to all involved parties.
      8. Has a FBI background check in accordance with the QBA provider qualifications listed under 403.6(3)(c)

      Scope of Service: Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services are Rehabilitative Mental Health (RMH) interventions designed to reduce psychosocial dysfunction (i.e., interpersonal cognitive, behavioral development, etc.) and restore recipients to theirhighest level of functioning. PSR services target psychological functioning within a variety of social settings. variety of social settings. PSR services may include any combination of the following interventions:

      1. Behavior Management: Recipient will learn how to manage their interpersonal, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses to various situations. They will learn how to positively reflect anger, manage conflicts, and express their frustrations verbally. They will learn the dynamic relationship between actions and consequences. The purpose of this RMH goal is to restore the recipient to their best possible functional level
      2. Social competency: Recipient will learn interpersonal-social boundaries and gain confidence in their interpersonal-social skills. The purpose of this RMH goal is to restore the recipient to their best possible functional level.
      3. Problem Identification and Resolution: Recipient will learn problem resolution techniques and gain confidence in their problem solving skills. The purpose of the RMH goal is to restore the recipient to their best possible functional level.
      4. Effective Communication: Recipient will learn how to genuinely listen to others and make their personal, interpersonal, emotional, and physical needs known. The purpose of this RMH goal is to restore the recipient to their best possible functional level
      5. Moral Reasoning: Recipient will learn culturally relevant moral guidelines and judgment. The purpose of this RMH goal is to restore the recipient to their best possible functional level
      6. Identity and emotional intimacy: Recipient will learn personal and interpersonal acceptance. They learn healthy (appropriate) strategies to become emotionally and inter-personally intimate with others. The purpose of this RMH goal is to restore the recipient to their best possible functional level
      7. Self-sufficiency: Recipient will learn to build self-trust, self-confidence, and/or self-reliance. The purpose of this RMH goal is to restore the recipient to their best possible functional level
      8. Life Goals: Recipient will learn how to set and achieve specific, measurable, achievable (observable), realistic, and time-limited life goals. The purpose of this RMH goal is to restore the recipient to their best possible functional level
      9. Sense of Humor: Recipient will develop humorous perspectives regarding life’s challenges. The purpose of this RHM goal is to restore the recipient to their best possible functional level
